Joints

Even if joints differ from one to another, there is a joint structure that has the same characteristics of all joints. The 140 joints in the human body consist of joint cartilage, the underlying subchondral bone and the joint capsule. The cartilage plays a crucial role and ensures that the ends of the bones do not rub against each other.

Undenatured
Collagen Type 2

Type 2 Collagen is the biological form of collagen and occurs primarily in cartilage tissue. Undenatured Collagen Type 2 consists of three pro-collagen chains which combined form a triple helix. The special production process of Carticol® preserve this naturally active form, especially in comparison to all other collagens on the market. Type 2 Collagen is essential for cartilage tissue. It forms a unique network and gives the cartilage elasticity and resistance.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is the main component of the synovial fluid and is also found in cartilage. The synovial fluid prevents the cartilage surfaces from rubbing against each other. With increased stress on the joint and with increasing age, the viscosity (lubricity) of the synovial fluid changes. Due to its enormous capacity to compile water, hyaluronic acid is partly responsible for keeping the cartilage elastic and supple.

Manganese

Manganese is a compound for the enzyme glycosyltransferase which is actively involved in cartilage structure.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E belongs to the group of tocopherols and has an antioxidant effect, thereby reducing the oxidative effect of free radicals. Free radicals have a damaging effect on the cells in the joints.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organosulfur compound and can serve as a source of natural sulfur. Like hyaluronic acid, MSM is a building material for the structural protein collagen, which is an important element in many structures of the body. Sulfur is primarily focussed on the supporting and connective tissue and is found in bones and cartilage.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin. Vitamin C is involved with many metabolic processes in the human body and contributes to normal collagen formation and the normal function of the bones and cartilage.

Vitamin D

The body itself can only produce part of vitamin D. This mainly affects the elderly people. Vitamin D is essential for a healthy bone metabolism.

* A daily dosis (2 capsules) contains 160 mg of Undenatured Collagen Type 2
